PAUSitive Choice!

Once upon a time when there were Kings & Queens, there was a Princess named Roopwati. She was very beautiful.

When it was time for Roopwati to get married, her parents fixed up a Swayamvar* for her.

Many eligible young Princes had gathered.

Roopwati was secretly observing them from her hiding-place.

Prince Om caught her eye at first sight.

His clean shaven look bowled her over!
Roopwati had set a screening challenge for them. Whoever cleared the initial ‘test’ would proceed to the next round that was the actual Swayamvar.

Her father, the King, was apprehensive if anyone could clear the tough test set by his daughter.

Roopwati found herself praying that may Prince Om qualify!
It so happened that only three Princes- Om, Jai & Jagdish managed to solve the problem & qualified for the final round!

Prince Om was also amongst the victorious trio much to Roopwati’s relief!

When the Queen asked Roopwati what her opinion about the three Princes was, she said-

“I think Prince Jagdish is Good. But, he has a beard… He looks as though he hasn’t taken a bath^.

Prince Jai is Better. But, he has a stubble… I hate that unclean stubble.

But, Prince Om is the Best. He is clean-shaven!”

The next day, our decisive Princess had made her choice even before entering the chamber where the three Princes were waiting in anticipation.

No points for guessing that Princess Roopwati put the garland on Prince Om & chose him as her husband!

MORAL:
Clean-Shaven Wale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge!” (The Clean-Shaven will take the Bride away!)

*Swayamvar- Swayam means Own & Var means Groom. In ancient India, a royal bride used to chose her own groom from amongst a gathering of eligible young Princes/men.
^83% Women think men with stubble haven’t taken bath.
