"Which is better- the sun or the torch?"
Asked the little kid on that dark night.
"What do you feel? What do you say?"
I asked the kid to share what he felt right.

"The torch!" he said without batting an eye!
"The torch gives us light and shows us the way.
Torch helps in dark nights when there is no light;
We can see everything in the day anyway!"
"And who gives us light during the day?" I asked.
"Who shines for everyone, providing light on all days?
Who makes other lights and torches unnecessary?
It is our good old golden sun with its bright rays!"
It all depends on our viewpoints, needs, gratitude & utility.
In the sun's absence, the torch gives light and shows where to tread.
Our impact depends on what we are made of- what we have inside.
The torch needs functional batteries or fuel- to be useful & not dead.
The torch needs our interest and efforts so that it can work.
The sun rises each day and sets too, irrespective of what we say-
The sun shines without us having to worry or remember to refuel.
The sun is natural, the torch is man-made; one is free, & for the other, we pay.
Which is better- the sun or the torch? What do you say?

Interesting comparisons make an entertaining piece which also suggests a deeper message.
ReplyDeleteI prefer the sun because it comes every day always. The torch would lose its effectiveness when it is out of battery power.
