It was past midnight.
She was speeding her car trying to flee.
Goons were hot in her chase.
She was not going to let them catch her.
She sped through little-known by-lanes in an unfamiliar part of the city.
In a dark stretch, her car suddenly stopped.
It wouldn't restart.
She had two options- either stay put in her car and risk being traced or get out and look for a safe hiding place till the morning.
She chose the latter and hurried as fast as her feet could carry her towards the direction of a solitary house with light.

ReplyDeleteThat happened to Brad and Janet when their car broke down and they took refuge in the "Frankenstein place" (a "Rocky Horror Picture Show" - 1974 film - reference). -James

ReplyDeleteHopefully she will find a place to stay. Well done.
ReplyDeleteHoping it's a safe place to hide!
ReplyDeleteJust ruins a good chase scene when cars just give it up like that. Well told.
ReplyDeleteI think she's made the best choice. It's a very spooky place for her car to break down. (Margaret)
ReplyDeleteOoh! Good one! Now what's going to happen to her?
ReplyDeleteHopefully someone is home and they are a kind soul.
ReplyDeleteAnita, I think the second option is better. Hopefully, she will safely escape her pursuers. Notes to Women
