The travellers went to the
palace.
"Photography is not
allowed inside", their Guide warned.
When Dia saw the palace, she walked as though she knew the place.
Photo Prompt- David Stewart |
"A beautiful Princess once lived here", the Guide informed.
"Her portrait is on the wall of the living-room," Dia shared.
The Guide looked surprised.
"How do you know?" he asked.
"Dia must have read somewhere," her friend remarked.
Photo Prompt- Roger Bultot |
"And where is the fence that used to be here?" Dia asked.
"There was a beautiful rose garden this side," she added.
The shocked Guide showed the travellers an artwork titled "The Palace Rose Garden".
100 Words Story for Friday Fictioneers
Had missed participating last week, thus have combined last week's interesting photo prompt too.
The green can of this week's prompt is intriguing and I have more stories about it :) Maybe later!
What do you think happened next with Dia? Is this a case of reincarnation?
Do you believe in reincarnation?

Spooky
ReplyDeleteThank you for reading :)
DeleteHow I wish I could similarly recollect my previous birth tales ;)
ReplyDeleteEven I wonder sometimes.
DeletePast-life regression can indicate reincarnation.
Great use of both prompt pics. Quite the challenge

DeleteA supernatural revisit, or a more innocent explanation? Nice one.
ReplyDeleteMaybe she remembered her past life?
DeleteThank you so much for reading & for your appreciation.
How very strange.
ReplyDelete"Truth is stranger than fiction".
DeleteOoh, there's something sinister at work here. More to follow?
ReplyDeleteYes, the story can continue :)
DeleteMaybe her past life. Maybe she played a prank?
Very mysterious, Anita.
ReplyDeleteShalom,
Rochelle
Yes, mysterious are the ways of the world.
DeleteWe often encounter places, people or things that look very familiar.
Something strange here. Well done.
ReplyDeleteTruly.
DeleteHow shocked would we be if a first-time visitor knew everything about our home?
Thank you. Glad you liked it.
Hehehe. Is this from the old Tamil movie Nenjam Marappadhillai (1963 film). Google Wikipedia if you are interested in the plot. English meaning is The Heart never forgets.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing.
DeleteI googled the Tamil movie- Nenjam Marappadhillai - The English meaning is apt.
The 2021 film has an interesting plot- but sinister with ghosts & murders.
The 1963 film has a supernatural plot with a villa that triggers past-life memories.
There are many movies about reincarnation.
Real-life incidents have inspired many like this Tamil movie & others.
"The Heart never forgets". A part of our past life is with us.
Our Karma follows us across births.
Granonine here. No, I don't believe in reincarnation, or ghosts, either, for that matter. But you've certainly used both to good effect in this story :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for visiting & sharing your feedback :)
DeleteGlad you liked it.
My guess is Dia used to work there and missed the old place. I wouldn't rule out reincarnation though...
ReplyDeleteNice guess. :) Thanks for sharing this angle.
DeleteBut, the story is about a group of travellers visiting the place for the first time with their Guide.
So much is possible!
Maybe Dia had snuck in sometime ago?
ReplyDeleteThey were visiting for the first time as tourists.
DeleteThe moment they went to the place, she knew it already :)
Very good. Intriguing, and clever to have used both prompts.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your nice words :)
DeleteGlad you liked it.
I like to take up the challenge of combining prompts :) Have done some in the past.
That was beautifully presented, Anita. Nicely done!
ReplyDeleteGreat to hear from you! Thank you so much for reading & your appreciation :)
DeleteIt’s eerie how sometimes memories are triggered or that feeling of Deja vu. I can never decide on anything (or is it I decide on everything?) so don’t know if I believe in reincarnation. I don’t believe there is an afterlife but energy can’t be destroyed so anything is possible.
