National Cinema Day

The second edition of the National Cinema Day is this week!

Yes, it will be celebrated on  Friday the 13th (October 2023).

Most cinema-tickets will be available at Rs 99.

Apart from the pricing of the tickets, there will be deals for popcorn, food etc. at some of the counters too.

If you are a HUGE movies fan like me, you will not lose this opportunity!

However, this invitation price won’t apply to premium formats such as recliners, 4DX, and IMAX.

This has been shared and announced by the Multiplex Association of India (@MAofIndia) in their post on X last month:

"National Cinema Day will be held at more than 4000 participating screens and will include cinema screens of PVR, INOX, CINEPOLIS, CARNIVAL, MIRAJ, CITYPRIDE, ASIAN, MUKTA A2, MOVIE TIME, WAVE, M2K, DELITE and many others."

The first edition was last year- on September 23, 2022.

The tickets were available at Rs 75 then.

Initially, it was scheduled for the 16th September, but then the date was shifted to 23rd September.

As per @MAofIndia:

- The date change was done "on request from various stake holders and in order to maximize participation".

- National Cinema Day set a new Cinema Attendance record in 2022 with Cinemas recording sold out shows in advance on ‘National Cinema Day’ - Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Kerala were unable to participate due to State Government regulations w.r.t Movie Ticket Pricing

What a fantastic response it earned in 2022!

It attracted an estimated 6.5+ Million moviegoers to cinemas across India.
This year's figures are definitely going to be bigger.

The advance booking has already opened in some movie-theatres of some places.

The excitement can already be seen as bookings have commenced.

If you are a movies fan, you must visit and watch a cinema on the big screen on this special occasion and celebrate movies.

Note- You need to book in advance as it may be tough to get tickets on National Cinema Day.

I plan to book tickets as soon as the advance booking opens in my city.

What about you?
