Stay Strong!

What is strength?

That we see being exhibited by action-heroes and heroines, right?

Despite being a feminist, I have used the word- "heroes" first and then "heroines" in the above sentence.

Ever wonder how and why the very words- "action", "strong", "strength", "power" etc are associated with men?

Aren't there more action-heroes than action-heroines?

Batman, Spiderman, Antman, Phantom, Superman...

vs

Supergirl, Wondergirl...

"The strongest man in the world is he who stands most alone."

I came across this quote by eminent writer- Henrik Ibsen today.

I wondered why women are not included in such quotes. Why is it about man/men?

Aren't women necessary?

Aren't women important?

Mustn't women be included?

The quote could have been-

"The strongest person in the world is one who stands most alone."

Not being gender-specific with no reference to man/he, the above statement could have been used to imply man/woman or any other person.

In India, the divine couple worshipped are- Shiva and Shakti.

Shakti means Goddess Parvati.

Shakti also means power or strength.

Goddesses have shown great strength and achieved what Gods had been unable to.

We worship Maa Durga during Durga Puja and nine Goddesses during Navaratri.

The festivities are round the corner- next month in October.

"The strongest people are not the ones who show strength in front of us, but those who fight battles we know nothing about."

This quote has "people" in it and is more inclusive.

Every woman has been battling battles.

No one knows about what they are going through while they are smilingly juggling and managing and sacrificing and making things easy for all.

My note and wish for all the strong women-

Stay strong while fighting battles no one knows about.๐Ÿ‘

May Mahaprabhu bless๐Ÿ™

  1. I guess you have considered just physical strength in your post. But there is another type - Mental Strength. People who lack the former might have the latter in abundance!

The emoji for "strong" even shows muscle-power!
Yes, strength has many dimensions and part from physical, it can - mental too. There's even emotional strength.
Women are strong with all this :)
