Ruby was at the psychologist's
clinic.
"I always see a cat in my
bookshelf," she said decisively.
"You must believe me. My
husband doesn't."
The psychologist nodded.
"And then what happens? Is
it a real cat? Have you touched it?"

Ruby said, "Tried touching
many times though I have ailurophobia! The cat seems like a ghost- it is there,
yet not there."
The psychologist had never seen
such a case before.
He had visited Ruby’s apartment
many times.
He knew that Ruby had no
bookshelf in any of her rooms.
She lived all alone.
She did not have a husband.

Have you got ailurophobia (fear of cats)?
I don't have a fear of cats, ut I'm happy to let others look after them!
ReplyDeleteWhy the Psychologist visit her apartment several times? Is he having Anuptaphobia?
ReplyDeleteMusrum is terribly afraid of sponge cats
ReplyDeleteHmmm... Maybe there is something fishing going on.
ReplyDeleteI think the cat is the least of Ruby's problems. Makes me wonder what happens next...
ReplyDeleteShe definitely needs help. Intriguing story.
ReplyDeleteShe needs more help than he can offer methinks!
ReplyDeletewhat she needs is a good psychiatrist. hopefully, she can find one before it's too late.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if she may (or may not) be Mrs. Schrodinger? Fun story.

These counselling sessions are going to need to continue for a while yet, I think. And I learned a new scientific word. I always like it when that happens. 🙃
ReplyDeleteDear Anita,
ReplyDeleteTerrible fear to have. The only fear I have of cats is what they can do to furniture. ;)
Shalom,
Rochelle
No book shelf? Oh, my. This is a very serious case.
ReplyDeleteSometimes an imaginary world is a more comfortable place to be.
ReplyDeleteSome great story telling here. It's spooky what she is going through and I hope she overcomes this with the help of her psychologist.

She must have a strong--if unrecognized--desire to get past her fear of cats. Interesting story, especially to my therapist-oriented mind.
