During their holiday, Pooja’s five-year-old daughter saw "little girls with long hair" in the clouds!

There, Pooja meet Rina, her childhood friend.
Rina said, "Your hair is too
curly!"
Pooja nodded, while looking at her daughter's curls.
"Straight hair is the
fashion these days! Why don't you straighten it?"
Rina offered Pooja a discount
and invitation to her new salon.
To their surprise, Pooja's
little girl started reciting the rhyme she knew- "Chubby cheeks, dimple chin..."
Then she came to the line - "Curly hair, very fair!"
While enacting and showing her hair, she looked with admiration at her mother.
100 words story for Friday Fictioneers.
Do you like to change your looks as per fashion? Do you like curly hair or straight hair?
Dear Anita,
ReplyDeleteIn my adolescence I took a clothes iron to my curls to make them straight. Now I love my curls. It's all perspective, isn't it?
Shalom,
Rochelle
Human beings, we're rarely satisfied.
ReplyDeleteMy daughters have their father's curls - one straightens hers while the other scrunches to enhance them!
ReplyDeleteMy little granddaughter has the curliest hair I've ever seen, and she loves it - for now, anyway! A delightful tale, Anita.
ReplyDeleteI suspect Pooja will keep the curls for a while longer :-)
ReplyDeleteVery nicely done. Fun read.
ReplyDeleteThe marketers would have us all dissatisfied with ourselves so we buy products to "correct." I'm glad Pooja knows her curls are beautiful just as they are. I like how she looks to her mother for affirmation. Mom is teaching her daughter well.
ReplyDeletethe little girl likes her curls
ReplyDeleteAh, she knows the truth - she is lovely just as she is!
ReplyDeleteWe never appreciate what we have, do we? Sweet story.
ReplyDeleteAs a kid I always got perms. My mom used to spend time curling each small amount of hair tightly around each colored plastic curler. Oh, did it hurt! Then as I got older and I realized my hair had a little curl to it and I loved it. It is nice to be able to go back and forth.
ReplyDeleteCurly hair is beautiful but straight and smooth is lovely too. Human beings always crave the opposite of what they have!
