The Real Artist

It was a normal date.

This was their third meeting.

He had invited her home for a meal.

They had met at a cafĂ© earlier.

This time was special.

He showed her his art- both paintings and cooking!

The man could paint and cook!

She liked him.

Photo Prompt- Rochelle Wisoff-Fields

She was yet to discover that he was a real artist...

It did not take long.

She wanted some extra seasoning in her omelet.

"Some salt and pepper!"

She saw him reaching out to his painting and getting the salt and pepper bottles.

She saw the blank canvas of his painting titled 'Omelet'.

What would you do had you been there in her place?

Do you wish that the objects in paintings and photographs would come to life?!

  1. Dear Anita,

    A fanciful breakfast tale indeed.

  2. I think the objects in paintings may be safest confined there. Too many dragons!

  3. A question of priorities, here, for the artist, unfortunately.

  4. Think what you could paint if it would subsequently come to life!

  5. That is indeed an artist who has the magic of art--or is it the art of magic?--down pat. Fun story, very imaginative.

  6. There are many ways to a woman's heart. I'm not sure this is one of them though!

  9. Hmmm. I would have been either terrified or fascinated. I think, though, that I would have stayed :)

  11. I'd have pinched myself just to check whether or not I was having a dream that could become a nightmare! Nice one Anita.

    Here's mine!

  12. Anything can happen in fiction, that's why it is so fun to write it. I'm glad there wasn't a sinister discovery.

  13. What an interesting idea! I don't think, though, that I would have stayed to eat the omelet - I'd have made an excuse and left as quickly as possible.
