Let Us Follow Covid19 Rules And Guidelines

These are unprecedented times. After many years, our world is presently witnessing another pandemic. In this present scenario, considering the examples of other nations, who flouted rules, we need to learn and take care.

I feel very angry when I see people eager to exercise their "freedom" by not listening to instructions. Some of them keep loitering around on the road, like old days, instead of being at home.

I saw a couple of videos posted by Indians abroad. As many nations are presently under quarantine and lockdown, people are adjusting with the conditions. Everyone has come to accept the extraordinary situations and understand that this is the new normal. They are strictly following guidance. Apart from health and medical practitioners worldwide, this is the plea of government officials and even understanding ordinary citizens.

Some of the Indians in countries like Germany and Italy have posted requests trying to make the Indians at home understand the gravity of the situation. They have repeatedly implored that social distancing is the best way. All we need to do is to stay at home. No one asking us to go to the border to fight for our nation, This is the time we can show our patriotism by following rules and keeping ourselves and everyone else safe. This is our duty and responsibility.

"Pandemics have occurred many times in the past. Doctors in China and India were writing about the importance of isolation more than two thousand years ago", Peter Frankopan, a professor of global history at the Oxford University, states in his interview in this article.
He is the author of the book The Silk Roads: A New History of the World.

Our Prime Minister, Modi ji, stated the following in his address to the nation on April 14, 2020:

1) Lockdown to be extended nationwide till 3rd May 2020.
2) Hotspots to be highlighted and strictly monitored
3) Stringent procedures to be implemented & action to be taken
4) Relaxation to be given to non-hotspot areas after 20th April with exemption
5) If any cases are found in those areas, all relaxation will be withdrawn
6) 20th April onwards, areas where daily wages workers are there, PM Garib Kalyan Yojana will be implemented with new guidelines
7) More than 1 lakh beds are already ready to combat the situation along with 600 dedicated hospitals

He also mentioned these 7 guidelines:
1) Take care of the elderly
2) Strictly maintain lockdown and social distancing; and use home made mask
3) Use Aarogya Setu Mobile App
4) Help the poor and needy
5) Be sensitive towards employees
6) Respect and honour all Corona warriors
7) Stay Safe; Stay Home

You can see the guidelines in this creative sand animation art by Padma Shri Sudarsan Pattnaik:

Guidelines are in place for a reason.
Why not follow them and save ourselves and our nation and the world?

There are many Lessons From Coronavirus #Covid19

Stay Home. Stay Safe.
