The street party was exciting.
There were food-stalls and
plenty of fun-events.
They had invited the city's
most important people.
She felt privileged to have got
a pass.
She was enjoying herself when
she saw him...
She was seeing him after nearly
a decade.
He looked smart and handsome as
usual.
He had always made her go weak
in her knees.
She did not want him to see
her.

Love the idea of hiding in plain sight as a statue
ReplyDeleteWonder why she didn't want him to see her.
ReplyDeleteAfter nearly a decade, just seeing him would be a huge trigger. I'm glad she was able to avoid him if she didn't want him to see her.
ReplyDeleteIf she wants to get over him, being recognized would probably have opened old wounds. It doesn't speak for him that he thinks she's a statue.
ReplyDeleteOld flames disturb immensely!

ReplyDeleteI saw a FB meme about congratulating the 400,000 people who kept quiet for 50 years while faking the moon landing. It was sarcastic but made a point.
