Box Office Hit

She felt elated to walk into a movie hall after ages. A huge movies fan, she had to watch the latest release.
The last two years had kept her very busy in completing her autobiography.
A book publishing-house had accepted it.
She was excited that she'd soon get to see it in print.
She hoped that her story would be accepted by a movie production-house as well.

She had even decided the actress, who would play her role! She felt that actress Maya would be perfect.

The box office hit with actress Maya began to play.

It was her story...

What do you think she should do next? Isn't it strange when you go to watch a box office hit, and you discover that you are the one who has been 'hit'?

  1. I'm sure a lot of writers dream of this. Not sure I would like my life story turned into entertaInment personally.

  4. I hope she gets good money out of their copyright infringement. But what fun to see your book turn into a movie.

  5. Dear Anita,

It would be quite a shock to see my story on the screen without my knowing or giving permission. Although she seems quite pleased, I'm not sure I would be.

    Shalom,

  6. I hope she was smart enough to get her work a copyright. If not, it's going to be her word against a monolithic industry. Live and learn.

  13. I might feel flattered. I might sue. Depends on how the story was spun. Either way I would feel violated.
