Zapped

She was in love with him.
He was fair, tall and handsome.

Perhaps he loved her too.
He gazed at her and guarded her.
He was her zenith.
Pic Prompt: Russel Gayer
She liked to believe that they were compatible zodiac partners- her Water sign and his Earth sign would match perfectly.
She imagined flowing to him.

Sadly, the zigzag wire between them played spoilsport.

She felt zapped being the ‘possession’ of a different nation while he ‘belonged’ to a separate land.

The international border separating her (the river) and him (the mountain) had no clue that it was a villain in the love-story.

Do you feel borders can separate true love? Do share in the comments below.

  1. I've always believed the equator is a menagerie lion running round the middle of the world. I'm sure they taught me this when I first went to school

  2. Dear Anita,

Interesting use of the Z words. Some matches are just not meant to be no matter what the zodiac sign.

  5. The river and the mountain.... make a great story. In this case the river can change its course to meet the lover.
    great take on the prompt.

  9. We don't always get what we love. In this case, international border played spoil sport. Who knows somedays boundaries may be broken. They may decide to disobey international law by themselves. Times change.

  13. That's a clever use of z words. It depends on the border, I'd say. In 'normal, peacefully coexisting' countries, they won't separate lovers. In posessive, isolationist nations, they can, depending on how strong the fences are.
