Kirti reached the heritage and eco-hotel with her parents.
As the first guests of the refurbished property, they got a grand welcome.
“The branches of the tree are inside the rooms!” Kirti’s mother exclaimed.
“Are we allowed to pluck the mangoes?” Kirti’s father inquired.
Kirti was delighted to see their excitement.
She remembered her childhood when she asked such questions.
As the new Tourism Director, she had worked overtime to implement her idea to revamp and convert old buildings into new places to stay.
Seeing the reaction of the first guests, Kirti felt satisfied and hopeful- ‘morning shows the day.’

When we take our parents on holiday, it is so they can watch the kids and we can get a quiet evening or two! Like the idea of restoring the old building and giving it a new life.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful endeavour....
ReplyDeleteAnita,
ReplyDeleteNope, I haven't taken my parents on vacation. That would be a nice treat to do someday. :)

ReplyDeleteI liek how you showed the excitement in adults - and how little stays at certain places can bring us alive - the tourism industry could use more posts like this - ha
Mangoes in the room... sounds perfect to me
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of restoring without disturbing the growth around the building. Taking my parents on a vacation? No, never did, although we discussed the possibility.
ReplyDeleteI want mangoes growing in my house. When I was a young thing, my dream was to live in a house in which a tree grew in the middle of it.
ReplyDeleteThese stone houses have a lot of history attached to them. They can become a really good heritage site. Great that someone is making these houses to great use.

ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful idea, to be able to pick your morning mango from your bed. Nice story.
ReplyDeleteWe took my folks away for their joint 80th and 84th , got the whole family involved, 4 generations in a massive old house in Staffordshire, they loved it and kind of thought to themselves it'll probably never happen again because out was a logistical nightmare not because they are particularly ill, so they cherish those memories.
ReplyDeleteGood piece, liked it
Interesting read. We have gone to a few places with parents and enjoyed at their rejoice.
ReplyDeleteInteresting story over here. I like the idea.
ReplyDeleteWhat a good idea for a hotel! Kirtl was wise testing the accommodation on her parents - if they approved it must be good!
ReplyDeleteA really great concept & well put together.
