The Flood

The formidable dam of the past bursts at this hour:
The deluge and flood overwhelms my heart,
The waters lose no time to smartly play their part,
Stirred and shaken, I shrink, shrivel and cower,
Thorns pierce; I'm like an unloved trampled flower.
Bulls-eye! I'm the real target hit by the flood-dart...
Is it too late to journey ahead in my bedecked cart?
Rejuvenate my once-upon-a-time spirit and power?

A flood of a different kind as it rains like never before,
The heavens bless and flash with thunderous claps,
Magically alive to creativity as tears get washed away,
As the clouds & sun conjure tricks, I find rainbows in store!
The welcome flood in my poetic soul reigns free without traps!
It's never too late to write my poem; 'The Flood' will have its say...

Do you feel it's too late to do what you need to do or love to do?
Or do you feel it's never too late to do anything?
How do you manage the floods in your heart and mind?
