The Weeping Cedar Woman of Tofino in
Vancouver Island,
Sheds tears as forests are under
threat from (in)human hand.
What right do
we have to harm what we didn’t grow?
Her out-stretched hand conveys what we already
know-

"Do not
cut the trees!" is her urgent message for us all.
It takes years
for a tree & for a forest to grow tall...
Yet insensitive
humans are responsible for destruction...
Pointing to the
ground, her other hand directs
attention-
"Take care of Mother Earth
& afforestation" is her sincere plea.
To stop climate change & improve biosphere, trees are a necessity.
A weeping woman
is reminding us to take care before it’s too late.
Yes we can act together
& change ours’ & our planet’s fate.
Yes we can plant
more trees & provide eco-friendly solution.
Yes we can make
a positive yeoman's environmental contribution.
Yes we can take
ownership as our earth needs our action.
Yes we can pledge-
“Yes I’ll plant trees & support plantation.”

My Theme is- Poems About Life.
Every breath we take is dependent upon trees so why is it so important to destroy them so that some short lived fossil fuel can be gathered to destroy the atmosphere? How foolish humans are.
ReplyDeleteMay we all be more careful when facing a tree, and beware and listen to the prayers of soil

Well said! And how great that you were inspired by Sherry's Weeping Woman photo.
ReplyDeleteWonderful words. We must focus on what we can do - instead of constantly lamenting what is being done to us ... and to our beautiful planet. Your perspective, in this post, is one that we would all do well to emulate. "Yes we can plant trees".
ReplyDeleteLovely interpretation, Anita. Sometimes, we destroy our long-term prospects by fulfilling the short-term. Cutting of trees is one such activity. Awareness is much needed in this regard.
ReplyDeleteWe should definitely be planting more trees
ReplyDeletemuch love...
