"There are no short-cuts or elevators to success; one has to take the stairs."There are no short-cuts to save nature and our environment; we have to take care.
The cost of an industrialized & globalized world is huge; paying a heavy price.
Leaving a less perfect world for our children is so unfair and not at all nice...
How much more time or common-sense is required for understanding in men?
"We do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children."The clock is ticking and the hour is late as we helplessly watch our Earth sink,
As our environment steadily heads to disaster's brink, it's time to act & think!
Think of the future when our kids cannot experience what we are privileged to & can.
Flora and fauna may be extinct, and from pics/videos, kids may get the gyaan.
Time to press the alarm button; better still, learn and advocate CTRL + SAVE.
A healthy Earth with all its treasures intact is what we strive for as we crave...
We just have one planet- Mother Earth who's dear as she supports & nurtures.
Instead of being her staunch supporters, why have humans gifted her curse?
"The Earth has enough for everyone's needs, but not enough for anyone's greed."
Let's save our world! Sincere efforts and CTRL + SAVE is the need.
Here are some ways we can teach our kids to press CTRL + S and save nature-
Lead by example- Grown-ups can be role-models for children. By adopting green practices and an environment-friendly lifestyle, can drive the lesson home. If kids see us planting trees or tending kitchen-gardens, they too will develop an interest.
Charity begins at home and school- Good habits must be seriously practiced at home and school. Kids must be imparted lessons.
Catch them young- A sense of discipline, commitment and responsibility must be inculcated from the beginning and an indelible positive environment-loving impression must be created on the impressionable minds.
Be a green warrior- Kids must be taught- neither be an enemy of nature, nor allow anyone to be so. Rather it's cool to be a green-warrior as everyone loves such heroes.
Nature's friend- These days kids spend a lot of time on their online activities. They ought to send a 'friend request' to nature and environment too.
Get to the roots- To make the foundation strong, it makes sense to get to the roots. How about planting some saplings and gifting our Earth some greenery?
4Rs- Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle- Do we really need that new plastic toy or that Styrofoam cup? Kids must practice the 4Rs in letter and spirit.
Adopt Sustainable living- No wastage; rather optimum use of resources and using eco-friendly items. Also, encourage all friends and relatives to do so. Use own jute bags, rather than plastic ones.
Save Power- Just like money saved means money earned, similarly electricity or power can be saved and made better use of rather than wastage.
Be pro-active; not reactive- Planet Earth needs smart kids to CTRL + S and save her being pro-active that should impress! For example, not allow garbage to pile up on the street in the first place, rather than having to figure out with whom to deal with for the mess and where to dispose?
Celebrate Mother Nature and Planet Earth day everyday and every hour and not just on special occasions like World Environment Day (June 5th) and Earth Day (April 22) and Earth Hour (March 19)
Create eco-friendly and creative to-do lists- The above is just a small list, but doing all the tasks and accomplishing the goals of many such lists of things-to-do can mean that much is done.
Share info with friends and even strangers- Sharing info with all can help as together we are a force to reckon with and can achieve our common goals.
Remember- We have one Earth that we need to take care in this birth.

ReplyDeleteThe need to preserve nature is urgent and cannot be postponed.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, it is urgent! Thought provoking post.
ReplyDeleteMany years ago in 1960 a book was written by Vance Packard "The Waste Makers" illustrating how the world was being encouraged to be wasteful to make more profit for manufacturers. Sadly we have learned little from those days indeed we have become worse and are threatening the survival of the planet. Sadly few care as we live only for the day.
ReplyDeleteThis is a very important message. We need to actually save our mother nature before its too late.
ReplyDeleteA VERY important message but the pity is authorities are not interesed We the people will have to do something .. because if mother nature gets angry No will be able to save themselves from the Wrath
