Untruthful

There was a man, who proudly said he knew everything.
When his kids inquired, he said he even knew ice skating!

When his kids took him out to the ice skating rink,
They noticed that his eyes were wide and did not blink!
1958 Illustration by George Hughes - Picture-Prompt
His kids had to hold and balance him to save him from falling!

Do you agree that being untruthful and proud can make one fall? How do you react to untruth? Do share in the comments below.

  1. ;-) Maybe harsh ...but i think that people who are untruthfull and proud should fall.... on their face ...
Ofcourse one may be proud of who he is and what he has accomplished but never should be that proud that he should expect from other to accept his attitude of arrogant proud nor untruthfullness.

  2. I totally agree that people who habitually tell untruths should be exposed, especially MP's !
There's a few in our government I would like to fall flat on their faces for the lies they have told.
Particularly Tony Blair who lied to Parliament and the British Public, thus leading us into an
illegal war in Iraq, which, in turn, now, is responsible for the formation of the terrorist groups attacking
the World. I'm sorry to rant a bit but it's so sad to see innocent people suffer because of vainglorious
M.P's making dangerous decisions, taking us into unnecessary wars,

    best wishes

  5. I have to admit I have been untruthful when asked about something where if I told the truth, it would be hurtful. But public figures should always be truthful (like Di says).

  7. i told the Mama a white lie today. I told her that the doctor wants to see her on Monday to see that she's doing okay. Did he say so? she asked. Yes, I said. But, it was I who made the doctor appointment.

  8. hmm very tricky question .. because they say a lie to save someone is ok .. BUT then it is also said a LIE is a LIE ..

do i lie.. well I am sure I have .. did i repent - YES i did.. will i lie again .. who knows maybe .. sometimes for one it maynot be a lie but for the other it is ..

ok I have confused myself also now ..

  9. SO simple and hard hitting. Especially as a parent a lot of people in trying to set high examples have a tendency to do this. But that is so wrong. Loss of face can be permanent or quite literally like here :D
