Unknown Jumble

"What a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive.”

He was absorbed in these words as he watched his fainted wife.

A struggling actor, he wanted to be a hero but, with much difficulty, had landed a role as a villain.

"How did they offer you the villain's role? You look like a chocolate-hero!", his wife teased.

"Because I'm a great actor!" he said with a mischievous wink.

"I know that, my hero!" she said when they fell asleep.

He had been her hero and she loved him deeply ever since they had met when he had saved her from drowning.

In the morning, when she woke up to find an unknown person with a hideous face, kissing her, she was frantic and screamed.

"It's me, dear!" he tried to console her.

Then, he remembered that he had put on a villain's mask to deceive her.

He removed the mask, but it was too late as she had already fainted...

He learned it the hard way that he must be careful with his masks.

  11. You have all kinds of interesting imagery in this one, Anita! Yes indeed, if I woke up to strange face in my bed I would not only scream, but they would likely be attacked! I suspect she will be unhappy with him for awhile over that. :-)
