Graceful Style Of My Own

Ever since I learnt my name- Anita's meaning,
My confidence shot up & I started grinning :D
I believed that as my name means 'Graceful',
I can carry off any & every style & be blissful!

Jeans or Leggings with a simple top or Kurti,
Traditional Lehnga, Salwar-suit or Saree pretty...
Mix and match Indian with Western wear & fusion,
I carry off styles; charting new paths with no confusion!

Picture Prompt- Poets United - Hidden Paths

Fabrics, prints and colors all are wonderful.
The choice is amazing; the range is soulful!
I pick whether its cotton, silk or chiffon!
Deciding my style as per occasion is real fun!

Whether it's to a party, office or amusement park,
I choose my own style and happily embark!
I'm willing to change, experiment & do lots more!
I earn cool compliments when I enter any door!

 There's a lot of to-do & public intelligence-
"As in Rome, do as the Romans"
"Think before you leap wear"
"What's sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander."

Being grateful about others' selection,
I wear their gifted clothes if I have no objection.
I respect the people's choice of accessories too.
My style is positivity- ensuring no one is blue!

When invited to pose for a magazine-cover,
I was game for their expert stylist to take over!
Simple, groovy or elegant- whatever my style,
I add value by never forgetting my genuine smile :)

I have a style of my own,
I set my own fashion tone!
I look great in any style I sport,
The world's fashion is in my court!

I totally accept God's creation- my body & face!
I have no regrets or fashion-targets to chase!
My style neither goes wrong nor is out of place,
As full-time I'm ME- Anita - graceful- full of grace!

  10. I'd like to have some of those choices, e.g. kurti. We don't seem to see those in Australia. Congratulations on your magazine cover!

    1. Kurtis are like long tops worn in India, Rosemary. One can pair them with Jeans, Skirts or Parallels.
You must visit India to take your pick of bright and attractive Kurtis, Shirts, Skirts, Pants etc. India has a variety of clothes in great quality Cotton, Silk and other materials.
Thanks a lot. The cover was 2 years ago :)

  22. What a lovely poem to express yourself, Anita! Loved it! I like the last stanza, especially... 'Beauty' is difficult to explain, when talking about external one. There is no definition for it. Everyone is beautiful, if looked into the inner beauty and at the same time, nobody will remain beautiful if we don't know to appreciate. Only a person who is beautiful from inside, can be full of grace! And we can see that in you, dear :)

Nice to know that Anita means graceful :) It is so apt for you!

    TC! Keep smiling :)

Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. No matter what the world thinks, we are what we actually are! Deep down we know that!
Thanks for your nice & beautiful words :)

Anita is found in many languages. As per info in the Wikipedia, in Sanskrit it means- "full of grace, mercy, favor, variety, a leader, without guile."
Anita is common world wide :)
