A Common Girl's Story

I am Guddi, a common girl next-door.
I face a common problem- Pimples.

It all began when I left my home & city to pursue my higher education in another city that ranks amongst the most polluted in the world.

Apart from pollution, the following reasons affected my skin in adverse ways by gifting me pimples:
1.      Lack of sleep
2.      Stress
3.      Junk Food & not balanced diet
4.      Less water-consumption
5.      Use of a new soap on my face
6.      Dandruff in my hair

I have an oily skin and there was an acute attack of pimples- not only on my face, but on my back also.

When I returned home, my family and everyone was shocked to see my face attacked by pimples and ugly marks.
“Who will marry you?” some exclaimed alarmed!

Luckily, my hubby chose me for who I am and ignored my pimples.

I took extra care to see that they disappear before our wedding.
The bride ought to look her dazzling best on her marriage.

I motivated myself- Life is ten percent what happens to you and ninety percent how you respond to it.

I sacrificed my favorite foods- Pickles, Pizzas, Oily & fried stuff...

I took a popular tonic for blood-purification that tasted terrible. It didn’t help.

My cousin, who stays in the USA, sent me a whole hamper of chemicals that I was to use to get rid of pimples. I tried following the regimen sincerely, but found the process too cumbersome; nor was I achieving any breakthrough...

Next, I tried Homeopathic medicine. At first, there was more outbreak of pimples and then they reduced.

On my marriage day, there were no pimples, but their marks on my face remained. My beautician painted my face. Everyone said, “You look amazing!”

The after-effects of the beauty-products proved harmful for my skin and again the pimples reappeared.

I nearly fainted when I heard one elderly relative’s advice on how to get rid of pimples-
Bear a child soon & pimples will disappear! When is the good news?!”

CAN YOU IMAGINE?!

Surely there must be some easier way to say bye to pimples!

"Let your faith be bigger than your fear."

I prayed to Goddess in the Saraswati Puja celebrations in our Apartment-complex..

I lit the lamp.

I blew the conch.

As if as an answer to my prayers, a neighbour Didi informed me about a routine to fight pollution, germs and remove excess oil.
I find it effective and helpful.

Here are some extra tips to be pimple-free-
  • Be calm and happy and never be stressed.
  • Eat healthy & have a balanced diet for our hair and skin.
  • Consume adequate water to flush out the toxins.
  • Beauty sleep is much required.
  • Exercising everyday for 15 minutes gets our skin glowing. As sweat and dirt can clog the pores, we need to wash our face after exercising.
  • Keep hair dandruff-free.
  • Identify own skin-type & use quality products.

Note- This is a 100% true story. Heroine's name has been changed to protect the identity.
A friend & her hubby feature in the pics.
