He handed her a bouquet & kissed her hand.
His strong hands had rescued her years ago,
When their boat capsized, he didn't let her flow.
They had exchanged rings & got married that winter.
Hand-in hand; the heaviest snowfall didn't deter.

This is a very good 'story' and one we can wish on many people. I wondered whether you were writing about your parents. Mine have been together for 52 years.

DeleteI unconsciously mentioned 40. But, from your comment I realize that had my Mom not suddenly left us for her heavenly abode, my parents would have celebrated their 40th anniversary after 2 years...
