All she wanted was to be calm in a quiet place.
She made her own nest by the bridge near the river.
In her own world, she moved at her own pace.
She never thought her happiness made others quiver!

They broke the bridge & announced their presence.
Her creativity, goodness & power remained unaffected.
They hadn’t yet seen the bigger picture through the lens.
They yearned to be like her; their envious old-self was dead…

Love the Einstein quote, Anita, as well as the poem.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Linda :)
DeleteThe quote is the creativity prompt of Write Tribe.
Beautifully written poem, and a message that I believe too... people are often jealous of others who seem to possess something they don't have or understand. Jealous leads to attempts to destroy what that one has. Sad, but true. It sounds like t his girl doesn't let their efforts deter her!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your appreciation, Josie :)
DeletePeople are jealous. Some are destructive & try to damage/dishonor/disparage... Deep down they wish to be like the person they envy! Hope creativity's power makes everyone becomes a better human-being :)
Great poem, so meaningful :)
ReplyDeleteWelcome to my Blog, Lyndille :)
DeleteThanks for your appreciation!
I think that for a long time I was my harshest critic and it was the words of a friend who encouraged me to write poetry and then to paint. When I finally made the plunge I was glad and grateful I had.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your experience, Gabriella.
DeleteSo glad you got over it thanks to your friend's efforts.
Great to have such wonderful friends :)
I think many of us seek to be calm in a quiet place, especially this season of the year! I think each of needs to find a nest in which we find comfort.
ReplyDeleteI like your question, Anita. I do think our calm can be affected by others in whose presence we move. That is why sometimes we have to leave those 'others' for a time and retreat to our own space!
Always good to see you!
Yes, Mary. We do need a private space of our own.
DeleteThanks for sharing your views and for your nice words. They mean a lot :)
This is a beautiful and very inspiring poem Anita :) Creations may get destroyed but creativity will never... You have presented it very well dear...
ReplyDeleteCreativity is within all of us... As I have experienced, creativity is expressed better during heavy pressure either external or internal. When that pressure makes us to forget everything else... At that particular moment, nothing can distract us! I mean to say that no outside noise can influence us if we are immersed into what we are doing.
TC! Keep smiling :)
Thanks for your beautiful words, Sindhu :)
DeleteYes, may we not get affected by others and maintain our peace & calm. Much needed to pursue our creativity.
Why be lost or allow creativity to be lost?
Thanks! TC! Keep smiling :)
I found her place so calm and restful. Thank you for the space and moment.

DeleteLovely to have you here!
I also seek calm and quiet places as my preference. But I find to be really balanced I need the input of others' ideas and words as well. Thanks for posting this and thanks for visiting my blog.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your views, Peggy :)
DeleteYes, most of us wish this. Man is a social animal and needs company too.

DeleteTo remain happy and calm when life throws you a curveball - well, I think we all wish for this.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your maiden comment here, Margaret :)
DeleteYes, that's indeed what we all wish! May we attain it!
How often humans hunt down the different.. Hopefully she will find the space for her creativity.
ReplyDeleteHope her creativity is so strong that the world gets overpowered :)
DeleteThanks for your hopeful words, Bjorn!
i am glad that in the end they learned to be like her...the old self now dead....
ReplyDeleteah and if only her creativity were the answer, eh?
That's the positive happy ending, Brian.
DeleteUnfortunately in our intolerant world, creative people are killed as has happened in Paris #CharlieHebdo ...
Creativity of her shall soon build a place for quietness again. Nice lines :)
ReplyDeleteThanks MeenaSonal.
DeleteWish creativity achieved this and more...
