Puppets of different shapes & sizes- His creations were His favorite playthings,
He was in charge of their destinies- whether they'll be grounded or have wings...
He pulled the strings as per His wish & the puppets danced to His music.
He planned their life in much detail- even partners in marriage were His pick...
The puppets prayed to get lucky in the drawing & to earn God's blessings!
Note: He = God
There's a famous dialogue in a Hindi Movie, Anand- "We are all like a theatre's puppets, whose strings are tied up in the fingers of God."

We are indeed puppets in His hands! :)
ReplyDeleteThat's the dialogue, Ankita :)
Deleteheheh! I mean that is so true :P
DeleteTrue :)
DeleteI feel so too. Whether we think or not think that we are puppets, we still are...
interesting quote you played on...thus free will you know...i am kinda glad not to be a puppet...or that predestination is not overboard...because if it all is going to end up where it ends up, why bother you know....
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this deep thought, Brian.
DeleteThere are 2 ways we can ponder about this-
1. Either we think we are puppets & resign to fate
2. Or think we are thinkers/creators & write our own destiny & create fate.
I could he hidden message even before I read your note.Beautifully said
ReplyDeleteThat's lovely! Thanks :)
DeleteShared my note as I had to write about the movie's dialogue :)
I really enjoyed this interesting take on the prompt. Although I see your poem is about the fingers of God, it read well for me as a description of the joy any child gets playing with puppets or dolls or little plastic figures. Nice one!
ReplyDeleteThanks Peggy! Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
DeleteEven I thought the same. It's so true. The note gives a different meaning.
Kids actually play with their toys that way, name them, get them married etc :)
Beautifully expressed Anita, It's true that we all are his puppets...the message kept inside the poem was also wonderful...really enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteDelighted that you liked it, Appy!
DeleteThanks :)
Loved the symbolism here. Indeed we are nothing but puppets.
ReplyDeleteGood one :)
Thanks Anmol.
DeleteThat depends on the thinking :)
I do hope we are not puppets of God. Otherwise I think life would lose some of its meaning, if I thought it was all planned out ahead by some master planner. I'd rather think of people as having choices. I guess someday we will all fine out!
ReplyDeleteTrue Mary. One day we'll hopefully know...
DeletePuppets, destiny, karma etc many concepts are there.
But, God is the creator.
It's said that not even a leaf stirs without His consent...
I too hope we are not mere puppets and that we have a say in the shaping of our destinies.
ReplyDeleteYes, we feel this way! Thanks for sharing, Gabriella :)
Delete"His creations were His favorite playthings"...how true this is!!!...when we are creators like children, artists, poets or even God our creations do become our playthings....nice thought provoking lines Anita :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for reading, Sumana :)
DeleteWe will know if we are mere puppets or not if we get to see the script of the past. Then we can compare the notes, right. ;) God does have a say in everything we do but I think so do we. Otherwise, how can we explain the evil in the world! And many times we do feel God is doing injustice, you know all those stuff. I think it's His half and Our half. Nicely expressed, Anita. :)
ReplyDeleteTrue Vinitha!
DeleteI agree with your views! Wish we cold see the script of our life's story...seems like a movie! :)
