Living-beings have always been in search of light,
The quest is worthwhile as the reward is a brilliant sight.
When they announced that imminent space-flight,
I was attracted passionately just like a moth is to the light...
My future seemed sealed with a space-career bright.
But, by embarking into the unknown, fuzzy was my plight.
Don't know whether the space-mission will be all right...
If at all our space-ship will make it like a victorious kite...
"Who cares?" thundered the explorer in me, ready to fight!
If I am back safe, the writer in me will have lots to write!

This was a fun verse to read, Anita. I love the ending best... we writers are always thinking about the possibilities for a story in the things that happen in our lives. Papa Bear will often say to me "you should blog about that", and he knows that his name comes up often in my blogging too! Your verse is about the spirit of adventure, and that's a wonderful thing for a young person to have!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Josie.
DeleteYes, it's so true that we writers love to write & look for a story in anything & everything! Papa Bear loves his mention in your Blog :) Lovely to get such wonderful encouragement. All the more reason to write!

I like the ending. That awareness (or admission) that the adventure--everything, really--is fodder for the writer.
