My First Selfie With A Celeb

I am not that big a Narcissist or a self-centred individual, who goes on clicking & posting self-pics or Selfies for the world!
(We know some people who do that!)

I love taking photographs & that means that I am missing in the frame of the photographs I take!

My child is very happy clicking Selfies using the smart-gadgets! I love her Happy Creativity!

As she indulges in it very often, clicks Selfies with the two of us and puts up her creative works of art, all I have to do is smile and pose and 'say Cheese' when she requests demands that I do!

When I informed my daughter that I'll be attending Bahar Dutt's book-launch in British Council, Kolkata, she demanded that I click a Selfie with Bahar!

Bahar Dutt is a noted media-person, TV-journalist, environmentalist & now the writer of her maiden book 'Green Wars'.

"Selfie is the new autograph", my daughter said.

As I hummed & hawed, she warned, "Don't dare to come home without it!"

Bahar Dutt's book-launch was a great event.

After it was over, a part of me wanted to leave as it was already pretty late in the evening & my home is very far from there.
Plus, there already was a big queue with people waiting for Bahar Dutt to autograph their copies of her maiden book.

Yet, the brave part of me ventured to attempt my inaugural Selfie with a Celeb!

I found myself taking Bahar's permission for the same to which she readily agreed.

Some elderly people over there smirked, knowingly nodded their heads in approval & remarked, "This is the latest fashion!"

That's when I realized that I had never clicked a Selfie before! I knew how to take a Selfie, but had never done it before!

My child has had always clicked our Selfies, remember?

I missed my daughter a lot in those few seconds while I struggled with my smartphone in that space where everyone was vying for Bahar's attention...

All this while, Bahar graciously smiled & sportingly bore with me.

And then the smart-tech-lover in me clicked!

My-First-Selfie-With-A-Celeb

I did manage my first Selfie pretty well! What do you say?

In the second pic, a Photobomber has made her way!

I now know where exactly to look so that my eyes face the right portion of the screen!

I have now figured out how to take a Selfie in style & with an intact smile!

Now that I have practised such a lot, my future Selfies with Celebs should be much better! :D

  3. That's a cool attempt..it does take quite a bit of practice to get a good selfie shot. I've recently got a selfie stick too but have yet to really figure out how to work it.

  8. I bet you look great in a selfie, as for me: I will be disappointed with a selfie of myself. I don't like any photo of me.

    2. @Anita, dear - some people are born to spread negativity....They show exactly how a human being should not behave or speak .....So much to preach and so much negativity to share with anonymity....

    3. Now this is what I tell my kid not to do... You are right Anita , "Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder". But in the blogging world beauty doesn't matter. And your writings are much more beautiful..
