Bribes For Medicines

Corruption is what we all are no stranger to unfortunately.
When I saw 'Medical Corruption', I reacted emotionally.

Doctors are accepting bribes to prescribe medicines unethically!
Proves that they have forgotten the 'Hippocrates Oath' so easily!

Passing off 'Chalk-powder' as the much-needed 'Calcium' for strength!
Some people, for profits, can stoop so low & can go to any length...

They'll prescribe any brand's drugs if they are paid handsomely.
Profits, gifts and rewards smartly weigh on their minds constantly...

'Intelligent' minds perpetrating such inhuman acts is so shocking & odd.
Some Doctors aren't even humans, leave alone being considered as 'God'..

Patient's lives are tossed like dice- Doctors play as per their wish.
IPads, Digital cameras, Cars... material objects fill them with bliss...

Kickbacks & bribes culture with no regulation is so terrible, so deadly,
Nexus among hospitals, insurance companies, pharma majors...so unholy.

We need strict laws in place and the hypocrites need to be reminded the Oath.
There has to be ZERO TOLERANCE to Medical Corruption that we all loathe.

Expose this blot on humanity- the Doctors, who indulge in such shameful acts.
Make the public aware & wise about their rights by sharing relevant info & facts...

The recent Hindi Movie KICK also showed Corruption in Healthcare.

  1. Such a cheap act! I myself have come across a couple of doctors who prescribed me expensive tests which were worthless and not necessary just to gain profit! There was an incident in my after which I started avoiding doctors.

    1. Thanks for sharing, Bushra.
Yes, the news report highlighted this too- patients are made to take tests/medicines they don't need. They are even prescribed expensive medicines when generic ones, costing a fraction, are available...

  4. When you see the "medical representative" sitting outside the doctor's cabin, you know what he has come there for......
There are some chemists who are countering this by giving medicines which are the same but by a different manufacturer (and hence cheaper)

Nice to know of Chemists who are countering the unethical doctors by giving cheaper medicines of different brands.
What if the Chemists are also offered Kickbacks & they give out costlier medicines though some ethical doctors have prescribed the cheaper generic variety?
In Kali Yuga anything is possible...
Checks have to be there on so many fronts...

  5. Yeah doctors...and let me share this incident too. My husband waited outside while this doctor examined me but u know his examination was evil...you know what i mean. We reported the matter to that private hospital and also to that senior doctor who had referred me to see this Rheumatologist. Story is that doctor is still there...in that private clinic...and i wonder that perv...how many must be suffering. Corruption...sigh...i can only pray.
Your composition brings it out so well...ur talent is good but the point is will it change things Anita...i can only pray it does. Moreover we r fortunate...we the compu people who can afford it all. i pray for all those who can't afford doctors and i pray sincerely for our young generation to become good doctors and serve at least for a few years in in areas which is lacking in even basic medical facilities what to talk of specialized ones. A roster could be prepared and all made to serve...it can be done but then the willingness has to come from those who take the Hippocrates oath as you have rightly pointed out.
Thanks for bringing it up Anita. Well Done i say :)

  6. It is quite sad that doctors breach their medical OATH and cause distress to those they are bound to save.

  7. What a sad reality indeed. I wish serious action is taken against such serious mal-practices. That word - malpractice- doesn't even capture the damage these doctors and other medical professionals can cause. It is downright criminal. Thanks Anita for writing about it.

  14. Respected Anitaji,
I came to ypur blog through a link on the blog of Shri Alok Vats. Your blog is quite interesting. Though it is possible that my information may not be correct because I am not an expert blogger but in my view for good search results, there must be no page break before first 480 characters in a post.

  15. I try avoid going to doctors as much as possible these days. I am exploring natural cures, and more importantly, preventive measures by taking proper nutrition. We have rich traditional systems like Ayurveda and Siddha which needs to be revived and we need to practice Yoga and Meditation regularly. Healthy diet (traditional foods) and avoiding fast foods/deep fried foods is also critical. In short, we need to change our lifestyle for the better.
