The sky was foggy and hazy and the sea was stormy and appeared risky.
But, only he was on her mind as she plunged into those cold waters just to chase that boat that was carrying him...
But, only he was on her mind as she plunged into those cold waters just to chase that boat that was carrying him...
Sometimes love makes us put our life in jeopardy at that spur of a moment and we are ready to risk everything as we feel it is a greater jeopardy not to be with our loved one...
Though she was an expert swimmer, she struggled against the force of the sea that warned her, making her feel like a branchless and odd tree.
Reaching the boat, she felt secured and evergreen in the comfort of his arms that proved to be a cathartic experience for her.

She made it but how many others may have done the same and failed, consoling themselves that it was not to be. That water sure looked cold!
ReplyDeleteTrue. people either fail to listen to their heart or fail in bridging the distance...
DeleteWonderful when couples win in love. Don't ask me how cold the water is! :)
Thanks for reading :)

DeleteBushra had informed about this interesting & rewarding contest. However, I had forgotten about it... Initially when I couldn't decide which celeb to pick and what to make her/him do, I stopped my brain-exercise :)
Hope you have shared your entry. Best wishes to you :)
Love conquers all.. :)
ReplyDeleteYes Anusree! Even stormy sea :)
DeleteAmazing story.. beautifully written
ReplyDeleteThanks Pooja. Glad you liked it :)
Deletereminds me of a scene from Titanic where Rose climbs back to the sinking ship only for Jack! cute :)
ReplyDeleteTrue Ankita! In the Titanic movie, Jack makes Rose promise that she'll never let go & she lives.
DeleteThat was a sinking ship, while this is a speeding boat that our heroine has to catch! :)
Glad you liked it.
ah bless her.. she finally found the one she loves ..
ReplyDeletegood one
Bikram
Hope everyone does, Bikram!
DeleteThanks :)
Lovely montage of words and image..we often need to put ourselves out there to get what we desire..
ReplyDeleteWelcome to my Blog, Jae :)
DeleteThanks for commenting. That's true- We need to act to get what we desire...
Carrying him... This is open both two interpretations. Is he dead or alive? Ah, love and it's strange pinging.
ReplyDeleteYou should write such posts more often. You are good at it.
The boat is carrying him as he doesn't know he has been sent on the boat by her. As per the previous story, he was asleep when she connived with the boatman to take him away as there was a threat to his life.
DeleteHe is alive, Saru! She reaches him & feels evergreen.
Thanks a lot for the encouragement :)
She's crazy. But it makes for a good story.
ReplyDeleteLove makes us go crazy, Alice :) Thanks! Glad you liked it :)
DeleteGlad she made it.
ReplyDeletejanet
Ditto Janet :)
Deletei always like love post :) btw the image of this post is behaving in an unexplicit manner with the theme ! dont take it wrong but may be you should keep the size of image medium or small (depending upon image resolution and size)
ReplyDeleteThanks for your feedback, Ankur :)
DeleteYes, the first image was acting strange when I first inserted it. I have faced issues with images before, but this one tested me the most! I increased its size as then it didn't interfere with the text.
After hearing from you, I spent some time & managed to reduce the size of the image without affecting the text :) Thanks.
Dear Anita, Your story is quite interesting and romantic. She is one determined Gal to swim out that far. I'm glad she made it and I hope he is worth it! Nan Falkner :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Nan! Yes, you are right. All this makes sense if he is worth it :)
DeleteGlad you liked it :)
Oh, so you did do a sequel. Great! The lovers unite. What happens next? :)
ReplyDeleteYou are so good at these 55 and other flash fiction :)
Thanks Beloo for your great feedback! Builds confidence :)
DeleteYes, this is the sequel. Leaves many questions unanswered.
Have to plan their life :)
Anita, Good story. There for a while I didn't think she'd make it, but it was a happy ending after all. Well written. : ) ---Susan
ReplyDeleteThanks for reading, Susan! I am always happy with happy endings :)
DeleteGlad you liked it :)
Such a nice happy feeling with an end like that..
ReplyDeleteYes Bjorn! We all love happy endings :)
DeleteDear Anita,
ReplyDeleteEven the strongest swimmer needs to use discretion. I related to her arms feeling like useless tree limbs. A good swim will do that. Glad her story had a happy ending.
Shalom,
Rochelle
Very true, Rochelle! Nice when we have happy endings. But, every end is a beginning!
DeleteThanks your views. I always look forward to your comment :)
Great!
