Those threat-mails filled with expletives made her sick,
Just because she had not said a word in her defence,
Didn’t make her guilty or the culprit of the offence!
She thought her silence was her tremendous power.
If someone called a Rose a “B****”, it’d still be a flower!
She realized she could no longer hide the truth.
She had to come clean with a tooth for a tooth!
The world had to know her true heart-wrenching story,
Enough of doubts; now time to restore her previous glory…
I wish it said more, makes me curious about her story!
ReplyDeleteSabeeha, her story has to be told! Extra words needed. 100 words too less :)
DeleteYES.. SPeak up is the way .. I do feel that once shud say what they want to say .. and leave the rest at least they have Said it all
ReplyDeleteBikram
Speaking up is the right thing, Bikram. But is it so most of the time? Some decorum needs to be maintained & lines have to be drawn.
DeleteRevealing the thoughts will ease one's mind.Nice.
ReplyDeleteTrue Rudra :) Better to share & come clean :)
DeleteI agree with the first commentator, this one needs a sequel...curious about what she has to say :)
ReplyDeleteA good one, Anita!

Very nice post! I agree that she should tell her side of the story! Like every one I am also waiting for the sequel! Hope she is able to restore her glory!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ratna for such lovely encouraging words & support :)
DeleteSuperb and well knit story in such limited words. True 100 are insufficient to elaborate further.
ReplyDeleteThanks Fayazji :)
DeleteExtra words will do the trick!
Hmm - THAT's the dilemma always, is it not? Whether a calumny will die down if ignored OR whether speaking out is warranted.
ReplyDeleteTrue Sureshji.
DeleteTo say or not to say is the question!
That is a bold stand.
ReplyDeleteSorry for the late visit.
Thanks Indrani.

HeeHee! Thanks!
DeleteGlad that there are so many supporters of the Truth. Truth will win & in Part-II will rise & shine!
I am curious too to know what is that truth... Is she 'Mother India'?
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed reading the poem... Feeling sorry, I have missed all your posts after March when I had been on a vacation...
Hope not to miss any post in the future...

The Arts & Me
That's a great imagination, Sindhu. True that Mother India is also getting threat emails... But, Mother India needs our help to uphold the truth. This heroine will help herself soon :)
DeleteLovely to hear from you :) Looking forward to your visits :)
Its a beautiful one Anita.. I loved the flow of thoughts, the usage of eye for an eye and tooth for a tooth, the comparison with the rose.. Its a really nice breather to read such a lovely composition :)
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Vinay
Thanks for your kind & lovely words :)
DeleteHi Anita,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the like. Well.. regarding the share buttons, I just used a code I got after registering to http://www.po.st/
Thanks a lot for sharing the info :)
DeleteAppreciate it! Looks interesting. Will try it out :)
A crisp tale depicting "Never back down".....and as per the public demand Anita..the sequel has to provide a worthy ending to these amazing lines...and I am sure it will be equally overwhelming. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Nikhil :)
DeleteYou made your prediction & have given your positive verdict for Part-II too :) Delighted :)
