Birds Of A Feather

"Do Without Make-up" was her Mantra as she never used make-up thereby allowing several cosmetics & beauty-products that she had been gifted or she had won as prizes, to languish in her drawer unused, leave alone getting worn out from overuse!

But, today, everything was decked up and there was celebration in the air and everyone wanted her to get all dressed up as the suitable boy & his family were coming to see her for marriage ...

She debated with herself what she would do - listen to her family that voiced the society's demand to appear presentable or just obey her mind & heart that detested such show-business as she had always loved to sport her true colours and feathers...

When she made her choice, she felt light and happy as she had decided to be true to herself & present the person she actually is rather than a fake, painted & made-up doll that she is not & never will be!

The lines of a famous Hindi Movie-Song- "Tum ko dekha, to ye khayal aaya..." (When I saw you, I got this feeling...) played in the mind of her suitor as he was completely bowled over by her simplicity, honesty and beautiful personality that impressively shone bright, as he was even a bird of the same feather who wished to flock together ...

    1. True Sir. But, it was her choice. She loved simplicity. Nice that her would-be groom also believed in the same, else had he wanted a made-up & extra-smart bride, he'd have to look for someone who loved make-up!
No amount of cosmetics can make a person nice/good :)

  12. Some times (or rather most of the time) less make up is more attractive. This is one of the reasons why "Queen" was a success. The heroine was made to use minimal make up.

  28. Everything which needed to be said, has already been said. There's no need for me, coming as late as I did, to echo what has been has before. It would no more than a pure redundancy which is something I can live with, and have no remorse in remaining silent.
