"Sister, Miss!"- Names what they referred me as when I was alone.
"Aunty, Woman!"- They addressed me so when they spotted me with my kid!
Why can't they address “Lady / MADAM” every time?!
My 33-words Post for the Trifextra : Week 104
This week’s challenge: You’ve got exactly 33 words and one of the must be a palindrome. It’s a word or phrase that
reads the same forwards and backwards. For example, words like mum, mom,
refer or sexes etc. Or phrases, such as the one above; or ‘seven eves’
or ‘yo banana boy!’ For some palindromic inspiration and a huge list of
them, check out http://www.palindromelist.net/
The voice in this is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my Blog & for sharing! Welcome Kymm!
DeleteI agree with Kymm! I detected quite a voice right off of the bat with this piece. Very well done. Good choice of palindrome as well. As Trifecta winds down, it is nice to know that the quality of work is remaining so high. Thanks. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Tom for stopping by. Great to get your maiden comment for me!
DeleteThat's a big compliment. Thanks! :)
Well I quite like the way you have written it. Something we all feel..
ReplyDeleteRicha
Thanks Richa! Straight from the heart!
DeleteYou have expressed what we all feel and that too only in 33 words. Well done.
ReplyDeleteGlad you liked it, Kiran! Thanks :)
Deletebecause they're all losers
ReplyDeleteThey don't know... They'll realize when it's their turn!
DeleteGreat question - and I've asked the same thing. Then again, sometimes I miss "Miss..." :)
ReplyDeleteActually! we all do! Thanks for visiting and sharing :)
DeleteWell done. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks :)
DeleteAnd, why can't they? I'm a man, but I see the objectification of women. I was raised by a single mother, they struggle. I'll admit right now that women get the shit end of the deal. So, your words ring true, the voice is genuine, and I love your spirit. Great work!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your nice words :) Thanks for visiting my Blog! Do visit often :)
DeleteTotally agree. How hard is it to call a lady a lady?
ReplyDeleteThey want to address by other names just because the lady happens to have a kid! :)
DeleteGreat post and way to make a point! Thanks for linking up!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for reading & commenting. Wish Trifecta continued so that we could have the chance to share more...
DeleteBe happy they call u Miss when alone :P
ReplyDeleteTrue Red! Yes! Rejoice in the happiness :)
DeleteThat is spot on Anita. I didn't really mind the dudes calling me auntie but it was fun posting their video.
