World Cancer Day

We hear with extreme shock & alarm-
The tales of cancer’s devastation & harm…
It can target anyone, spares no one…
Widespread across, everywhere under the sun.

What can I say about the deadly disease?
How can the patients’ pains & sufferings cease?
Scientists are sincerely working 24/7,
With cure for Cancer, Earth will be Heaven.

Sad that on February 4th- the World Cancer Day,
Cancer struck brutally, as always, out to play.
Claimed the life of a pretty young & close friend,
Just 1 amongst several lives, Cancer chose to end…

World Cancer Day

5,00,000 in India die of Cancer each year,
Their families’ lives are thrown out of gear.
22% of global cancer deaths are due to Tobacco use,
But those without bad habits also get Cancer blues…

Regarding Cancer, one thing is for sure-
That- ‘Prevention is better than the Cure’.
Though totally we may not be able to prevent it,
Yet regular health-checkups will do their bit.

A lifestyle with a good diet & plenty of exercise,
To fight against Cancer, adopting right choices is wise.
Also, always smiling & sporting a positive attitude,
And doing things that make us happy, should be good.

    1. Thanks Sachin for the feedback.
That's a positive note to the sad topic... Will touch upon the the survivor-stories in another Post, whenever I write about Cancer next.
Unfortunately, I have seen Cancer taking away people & so far I saw just 1 person who has survived...
In this Post, I just touched upon the general points for prevention, though people who follow these points may also find themselves in Cancer's hit-list...
