“Come on, decide! I don’t have whole day!”
“Come on, Why the delay…You know what to say…”
Life presents many wondrous options & choices,
Sometimes, I have no answers to the voices!
The problem is- I don’t have any solutions/clues!
The choices are many! Which to pick & choose?
My mind is boggled with the myriad range,
But, not one to decide, isn’t it strange?
To select, play “Eena-Meena-Mynah-Moe” game?
A wrong decision can have only me to blame!
I know! I’ll put my decision on hold for more time!
Not taking a decision is also a decision! Not a crime!
This Post is for the ABC Wednesday Round IV
Now that is a decision well made....Not taking a decision!
ReplyDeleteYes Red! Sometimes, it makes sense :)

DeleteA cute kinda sensible poem , Anita! :)
ReplyDeleteSometimes "Not taking a decision" turns out to be the toughest decision you made.
Loved the flow of words. Nicely written! :) :)
Thanks Nikhil :)
DeleteDecisions are never easy to make :)
Hahaha awesome indeed. I love the way you play with words! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Soumya. I love your words :)
Deletelol not taking a decision is the right choice most of the times.. very good one Anita :) :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Meera :)
DeleteDeciding whether to decide or not! Phew! :)
The ending was really good! I like taking decision when only I am in the right mood ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks Uma :) That's a sensible decision that will help you take the right decisions :)
DeleteA very cute poem indeed! :) You're so so good with words! I understand the hardships one goes through when trying to write a poem, as I fail each time I try a hand in it but you're God gifted! And a great decision taken! :) Its high time I too follow you on this!
ReplyDeleteAwww Preeti :) Thanks for your king touching words :)
DeleteWish you success! Best wishes to you! May you take the right decisions :)
Great Baazigari with words buddy. Carry On!!:-D
ReplyDeleteThanks Shabab for the appreciation & the motivation :) Much needed, Buddy :)
DeleteDecisions Decisions! :) Well written Anita! Its so true in the present world.. we have so many choices that confusion is bound to happen. Just like how I stand infront of my wardrobe every morning deciding what to wear for work! decisions decisions :)
ReplyDeleteHee Hee! Pallavi! True that! We waste a major part of our lives deciding what to wear! Research has even calculated the exact part/fraction of our lifetime we spend in making such decisions!!!
DeleteAt the end, after starring at our wardrobe with a blank expression, we finally decide that we have "nothing to wear" & "better start shopping!" :)
I know how it is! Stayed in a Girl's accommodation :)
Not taking a decision is also a decision, but a wrong one... Delayed decision might harm others....
ReplyDeleteSometimes yes & sometimes no, Alok.
DeleteAt times, delayed decision can prove to be more profitable, say in case of Selling Shares in the Stock-Market!
Ask me, coz I sold many IT shares just before the boom! Wish I had just delayed my decision! I would have been so much richer! :)
Eena..meena..myna is my favorite way...Sometimes I make my son to choose a finger too.. :)
ReplyDeleteI liked your final decision..that is always best..:D
Eena, Meena.. or Akkad, Bakkad.. or assigning values to fingers & then choosing! Any game is okay to amuse ourselves while we make decisions :)
DeleteThanks Preethi :)
Decision-making is so difficult that a coin often helps :D Nice poem :)
ReplyDeleteFlipping of a coin is a brilliant one! Shown in the movie Sholay with the famous coin! Jai always gets his way that way!
DeleteThanks for sharing :)
This brought a smile :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much :) Your words brought a Smile to me :)
DeleteWe are Smile Agents! :)
I don't know but if am allowed to share here's what I feel, In a situation which demands decision, the best thing is doing the right thing, the next best is doing the wrong thing, and the worst thing is not doing anything and claiming not deciding is also a decision. But having said that i know its a perspective
ReplyDeleteOf course, you are totally allowed to share your views, Sachin!
DeleteThank you so much for feeling free to express. Appreciate your perspective :)
While we are deciding, we don't know what will turn out to be the best choice to pick. We pick as per our knowledge & understanding at that point of time. It's only later that we realize whether it was 'right' or 'wrong'.
In this poem, the decision is - to put the decision on hold & decide later when the mind is in a better shape! :)
Indeed, not taking a decision or postponing a decision for the future can be a decision that may have right/wrong implications!
And that is the decision that I invariably seem to take :)
ReplyDeleteHee hee! Not all the times though, I bet :)
DeleteThe decision to 'not to take a decision' is also a decision. :P
ReplyDeleteYes! Sometimes this decision may turn out to be the right one :)
DeleteNo, not a crime at all :)
ReplyDeleteAye Aye, Sir :)
DeleteNot taking a decision may be the best decision at times. :P
ReplyDeleteYes, Kiran :) But, for those times, we have to be lucky though to have taken the decision not to take a decision :)
DeleteSimply awesome! The line" A wrong decision can have only me to blame" is so true!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ratna :) Yes, indeed! We are the master of our own destiny!
