My hair used to be my crowning glory,
Then came a twist in my hair's story...
Earlier my Mom used to oil, comb & plait it for
me,
My hair used to be long, strong, thick & shiny.
It also got great food with the right nutrition,
Thanks to my Mom's great care & attention.
For my higher studies, when I went to Delhi,
My hair missed the gentle love of my Mummy...
Got Delhi's heat & cold- extreme weather
conditions,
Also was forced to encounter the awful pollution...
Not to mention the stress of my MBA education-
Late-night studying, lack of sleep & improper nutrition…
I was soon a working-woman, who was super-busy,
I had many roles to play & no ME-time for poor me…
Had I more time for myself, my hair would gain
attention,
But neglected so, my hair no longer makes an
impression…
It is frizzy, lifeless, lacks luster & is unmanageable,
My once crowning-glory is now in a state so awful…
To adorn my hair, if I pick flowers, there are no smiles…
Recharged hair is wanted as it brings smiles across
miles…
My hairbrush is forever crying, seeing loss of my hair,
My flying & falling hair give my home’s floors a
scare…
But my hair finds its way even to my kitchen- that’s
worse,
Recharging my hair will recharge my life & stop
this curse.
Though people say I am cool & an excellent cook,
Terrible as they find my hair in dishes/food when they
look!
The other day, when from plate, a guest fished out a
strand,
I decided– I’ll recharge my hair & no more be embarrassed!
I’ll recharge my life too so that all will love me a bit more!
Perhaps my recharged hair will put me on a magazine
cover!
Me On Extreme Left! |
I need to recharge my hair to let my hair down!
To let my curls rock & roll, dance in joy &
not frown!
Recharging my hair will banish all my bad hair days,
I’ll be ready to party & style my hair in many
ways!
Recharging my hair will mean recharging my life…
I wanna celebrate life’s party everyday & feel
alive!
let's recharge our hair and make our life better and fair... good rhyming poem.. all the best :)

DeleteFemina look is courtesy the awesome Femina Team! Their expert touch & styling makes everyone look like a Diva! :)
This form of expression (pictures + poem) will make anyone read till end. Appreciate how easily you have weaved the message into a poem, one of the most challenging forms of expression in my opinion. Describing childhood, studentship and adulthood and a hint of your real life experince made the story look real.
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot for the cool recognition, appreciation & wish, Saket!
DeleteAll the Pictures are courtesy IB & Sunsilk! Truly pics speak! I shared my real-life true-story! Delighted that you liked it! :)

Great idea, Shruti :) Have to think of a great tune for my poem/song :)
DeleteI expected a mention of "zulf" and the songs with it. :)
ReplyDeleteOr have you written another post?
All the best Anita.
Indrani, Glad I didn't do that coz there are a number of Posts with Bollywood Song references!
DeleteBut, am sure no one has written a Post with hair fall everywhere, even on the food/plate that gives everyone a scare! :P
Real problem that needs hair recharge! :)
I have written another post, but that is again a personal account! :)
Thanks for your wishes!
Will have more Bollywood in subsequent Posts :)
You look so awesome on the Femina cover Anita! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot Ragini! All thanks to the awesome Team Femina :)
DeleteHehehe! hair in the food is always such a dampener isnt it :P and yes I expected some filmi stuff too! :)
ReplyDeleteHee hee, Seeta :) I thought I had to mention this problem as it's fairly common when I cook!
DeleteValid reason why my hair needs a recharge! :)
As for Filmy Stuff, it's conspicuous by its absence in this Post... (Good thing as many have dealt with hair-movie-songs! I'd have ended up repeating them!)
Sometimes, it's best to be unpredictable & create shock effect. With the topic being 'recharge', shocks possible! :)
Love the flow of your poem Anita ...great lines :)
ReplyDeleteAll the best dear!
Thanks Uma for your appreciation & wish :)
DeleteDelighted that you liked it, Sis! :)
Super duper! Must figure among the winning entries! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Amrita :) Hope the judges also feel so :)
