WE, the people of India, have many ‘problems’. We are dissatisfied & complain about the ‘system’.
Argument: “What can an Aam Aadmi (Common Man) do?”
By voting, an Aam Aadmi can ensure that the Aam
Aadmi Party (AAP) comes to power as has happened recently in Delhi!
Don’t underestimate the power of a common-man.

WE, the people of India have great powers.
We have the power to VOTE.
We must remember that India is OUR country. Voting
is both our Right & Duty.
Voting is our power that we can exercise to get the
governance that we dream.
A nation gets the governance that it deserves.
Argument: “What difference will my Vote make?”
Remember- “A
bad government is elected by good citizens who do not vote.”
For many cynics, Voting is a problem & a pain.
Argument: “Who’ll stand in the queue?”
Jahan
pe hum khade hote hain, line wahin se shuru hoti hai (The line starts from
where we stand.)
Better make the right ‘stand’ in the right queue to
get the right governance!
Argument: “Who’ll travel so far to the Poll-booth?”
Aiyeye
Meherbaan,VOTE kijiye janeja, Shauk se lijiye ji Voting ki imtehaan (Come &
VOTE Patron, With your interest take the test of {the power of} Voting)
Argument: “What difference can one vote make?”

Ek
Vote ki Keemat, tum kya jano Ramesh Babu? (Ramesh Babu, You don’t know the
value of 1 Vote)
Argument: “What difference will Votes make?”
Votes
do, Good Governance lo! (Give Votes, Take Good Governance)
The watch-words of the Chairman of Drafting
Committee of our Constitution, Shri BR Ambedkar were- 'Educate, Organize &
Agitate.'
To bring about social change, all these three are
needed in addition to the following -:
-Money
-Time
-Skill
-Capacity to Communicate
While incorporating all the above factors was tough
in Shri Ambedkar's times, ideology with Technology makes a potent combination
today.
Internet-enabled Mobile Phones make a HUGE
difference in today's world.
"Make a
phone call cheaper than a postcard and you will usher in a revolutionary
transformation in the lives of millions of Indians" - Dhirubhai
Ambani, 1999
Today, mobile phones are affordable & ubiquitous
- millions of Indians- Dhobi,
Auto-driver, Vegetable-Seller, Businessman, Home-maker…use them daily.
Mobile
Phones in Elections
In the National Election 2004, there was mass voter
messaging with Shri Vajpayee’s pre-recorded talk reaching many.
In the 2007 UP elections, BSP, a single party won
majority in its own right thanks to the partnership between Brahmins &
Dalits – the highest & lowest castes.
Mobile-phones were used to-:
- Connect
- Motivate
- Organize
Social
Mobile Apps
Social Mobile Applications (Apps) can prove to be
excellent tools for information, motivation & mobilizing/organizing.
Quoting a song from the Hindi-Film, Refugee-
“Panchchi, Nadiya, Pawan ke jhonke, Koi
sarhad na inhe rokey…” (Birds, Rivers, gust of Wind, no barrier stops
these…)
Similarly, Social Mobile Apps surmount all physical
barriers & borders- tall mountains, buildings, cities, rivers… and reach
everyone by delivering message irrespective of location from Kashmir to
Kanyakumari.
In this age of Information Technology & advanced gadgets &
SmartPhones, Social Mobile Apps can help attain noble goals.
There are smart Apps providing solutions for virtually everything.
Social Mobile Apps-
- Are hAPPening
- Make us hAPPy
Celebrities in Social Mobile Apps like Twitter, Facebook, Instagram etc have
millions of followers.
To quote an example, just 1 ‘Hi’ tweet of Salman Khan gets thousands of
‘Retweets’ and many number of ‘Favorities’.
This Millennium’s Superstar, Shri Amitabh Bachchan, has many fans. His
personal endorsement of the Pulse-Polio message has had its impact with India
now amongst the Polio-free nations in the world.
“Arey O Public! Baahar Nikal! Aaj VOTING hai…To Aaja…Public, Vote de
de; VOTE!!!”
(O Public! Come out! Today is
VOTING-day…Come…Public, Give Vote; VOTE!!!)
Imagine if #VoteForIndia messages emanate from all the celebs accounts, then
what a huge difference the sharing will make.
Social conscientiousness will then be ‘cool’ as even our favorite celeb,
whom we blindly ape & sincerely idolize, believes in the same.
I feel using their network through Google+, LinkedIn, YouTube, WeChat...
will make the #VoteForIndia message reach all.
Information sharing will be efficient and effective even by common people.
Videos & pictures get ‘viral’ very quickly. That means many people
access it within a very short time through fervent sharing.
Videos of newly-released movies & TVCs (TV Commercials) garner massive
views within a few hours/days of their release.
Imagine if #VoteForIndia Ad or Info is shared in a similar fashion or scale. The effect will be more Votes.
Advantages of WeChat
Social Mobile Apps for ‘Voting for Elections’ can be used to:
· Reach everyone widely- education,
gender, religion, city…no bar
· Quick/Fast Voting-related Information-
through pics, videos, speeches, messages… many mediums
· Lower level functionary can be in touch
with higher level to ensure smooth Voting
· Rapid reporting of candidates-info
· Efficient spread of awareness
· List action-points
· Arrange meetings/gatherings
· Register Complaints
· Request/Call for help
· Motivate everyone
· Uphold hope & democracy
· Promise a better future
If all can be persuaded to vote for the same candidate, she/he has a greater chance of victory. Voting in this fashion will ensure a majority government comes to power, that will be more empowered to make pro-India & development decisions.
Social Mobile Apps can share cool Blog posts such as this that emphasise #VoteForIndia!
There were these Videos that emphasised upon National Integration, by BharatBala Productions – ‘Mile Sur Mera Tumhara To Sur Bane Hamara’.
(If both you and I sing together, then the song becomes our’s.)
As a small school-girl, I loved the Video’s patriotic message.
As a Social-Science PhD Scholar, I feel ‘Mile
VOTE Mera Tumhara, To Desh Bane Sunehra’.
(If both your’s and my votes meet
together, then our country becomes golden.)
A Hindi film-song that I love is-
‘Jahan daal daal par sone ki chidiya karte
hain basera, woh Bharat desh hai mera.’
(Where golden birds reside in all
branches, that is Bharat- my country.)
There is little doubt that WE have to work sincerely
& VOTE responsibly to create the golden India of our dreams.
Come...
Fall in Love with VOTE!

DeleteExcellent. This word very rightly describes the post. You've got a very unique writing style, the art of explaining difficult points via mere few lines is special. DeleteMakes me feel like He-Man & say- "I HAVE THE POWER!" :)
That was very imaginative work and for a good cause.
ReplyDeleteMy problem, though, with social media is that information dissemination soon becomes information overload and, as everywhere else, the garbage drowns out the wisdom :)
Thanks a lot Suresh ji :) Delighted that you liked it :)
DeleteThat's a valid concern indeed. Selective & effective information sharing/communication is the solution.
May no one get bogged down by information overload that can make us scream!
Rather may we have the resources & the good sense to pick the relevant cream de la cream! :)
Whattey wonderful imagination I say :D
ReplyDeleteI guess you might take this contest off my hands now :)
All the best lady, I'm sure you shall ace this one too!
